The first main character I designed was Officer Danny Shaw - he was important to figure out as he was the character who would most visually represent the illicit and corrupt nature of Mercer's High-Speed Task Force.

We explored various levels of armour and accessories to give him a serious and aggressive look, and also toyed with the idea of civillian clothing, like an undercover cop, but we ultimately favoured the more uniformed approach to align him visually with Mercer.

As Lt. Frank Mercer is the public face of the High-Speed Task Force, we decided that he would favour a clean-cut look.
